We extend our sympathy to you upon the death of your loved one. In our ministry to you, we want to help bring comfort, strength and hope at a time of great loss, to plan a funeral service with you that will be a fitting tribute to your loved one, and continue to provide care and support over the coming weeks and months.

We are here to help you through your time of grief. If you would appreciate a visit from one of our Pastoral Team, please let us know. Above all, remember that you will always find a welcome at our services.

Advice for choosing readings, psalms, poems and prayers can be found via the useful Church of England dedicated website for funeral planning. For help in choosing the music for the service, we recommend contacting our organists. Both churches have choirs that can be present to help lead the hymn singing. If perhaps you are planning to use recorded music, speak to our churchwardens who will be able to advise you on what facilities we have, and what sounds best in our churches.

A member of our ministry team will visit you to talk about all these arrangements and to plan the funeral service so that it is a fitting tribute to your loved one. For more information, please contact the Rector who will guide you through the procedures.

On a practical note, for graves and memorials we abide by the Diocesan Regulations for Churchyards, more information on which can be found here. We regret that burials are reserved for residents of the parishes, or people with a close family connection.

If you are a funeral director seeking to make arrangements for a funeral, please contact the Rector via the Benefice Office (
